Missing in Action

Where have you been all my life?

When I have conquered many great heights,
And have gotten through some tough times;

When I have dreamed many dreams,
And have seen most of them fade into the void;

When I have achieved some few goals in life,
But have seen most of them fail;

When I have seen many beautiful places,
and could have taken Instagram-worthy kind of photos
(if only you were in it with me);

When I have spent many cold Christmases,
Having you as my one constant wish;

When I have celebrated many New Year’s eves,
With the undying hope ’tis year will bring me closer to you.

Where have you been all this time,
Been missing in action all my life?
